The Central Alabama Gun Club, located near Montgomery, Alabama, offers Steel Challenge Shooting Association matches several times a year. Steel Challenge matches are family friendly and, unlike many shooting sports, entertaining for spectators. Speed is everything.

However, that doesn't mean that it is for advanced shooters only. The Steel Challenge is one of the best ways to introduce new shooters to the fun of shooting sports. There is little movement involved and it can be shot with rimfire pistols or rifles. As long as the shooter understands and follows the four rules of gun safety, they can join us. Hopefully, they'll find it as addictively fun as the rest of us do.

The Steel Challenge matches at Central Alabama Gun Club are held on the second Saturday in March through November. The cost is $10 per shooter. First time shooters are free. Set-up begins at 8:00 a.m. CDT. Shooters meeting is at 9:45 a.m. and shooting begins at 10:00 a.m. CDT. We generally shoot eight stages each month.
